Instructor Carole comes to Pilates from a medical background, having worked as a hospital doctor for many decades. A runner and long-term gym enthusiast she turned to Pilates after a back injury and now is an instructor, Level 3 Teaching Mat Pilates, focusing on the power of Pilates to strengthen, tone and, most importantly, to support function.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Pilates is named for its creator, Joseph Pilates, who developed the exercises in the 1920s.
