Gym Etiquette
-
Have respect for others. Remember, we’re all a gym family. Whatever club you are with, or whoever your coach is, we are all training under the same roof. Leave your troubles at the door when you come in, and we guarantee you will have probably forgotten them when you leave
-
Whatever kit you use, put it away after you, please. It takes you 15 seconds to re-hang your gloves, or put the pads back on the hook. Re-rack the weights. It takes the gym staff ages if they are cleaning up someone else’s mess
-
Sweat is good! But wipe down equipment after use if you’ve soaked it!
-
If you get cut during sparring, CLEAN UP right away after your First Aid. If there’s blood on the mats, clean it up and spray it with the antibacterial spray. Report it to staff. And remember to keep your hands up next time!
-
Personal hygiene – we shouldn’t ever have to remind you about this. Shower before you come training, Wear clean kit. Wash your hands in the toilets. Wear deodorant.
-
No shoes on the mats. Ever. Put your shoes back on if you’re going downstairs, and take them off when re-entering the Dojo
-
Wear appropriate clothing in the gym at all times
-
Arrive on-time for your class. Too early, wait in the designated area, don’t gatecrash other classes. Try not to arrive late and disturb others
-
Mind your language. No need for inappropriate cussing in earshot of others. They don’t want to hear your foul language
-
Respect the rules of the gym. Read the signs. Rules are there for the benefit of everyone and keeping a good community vibe
